You can hear Gary playing pedal steel on the current Dierks Bentley single TRYING TO STOP YOUR LEAVING and can also hear him playing lap steel on the current Brooks & Dunn single PUT A GIRL IN IT.
Gary was one of five final nominess for this year's ACADEMY OF COUNTY MUSIC AWARDS (ACM) in the category of pedal steel player of the year. The awards were held on May 18th in Las Vegas.
In addition to having played steel on Sara Evans' previous hits "Suds In The Bucket," and "A Real Fine Place To Start," Gary played on Sara's recent contribution to a Barbara Mandrell tribute cd which also features several other prominent female country artists. The song was a remake of the Mandrell hit "You Can Eat Crackers In My Bed Anytime." CMT caught the session on video (to air later) and Barbara Mandrell showed up in person to hear the new version.

While Gary was known for playing vintage Sho-Bud guitars for more than twenty years, he is excited to announce that he is playing Desert Rose pedal steel guitars exclusively now. Desert Rose guitars are built by Chuck Back in Arizona and are true works of art. You can hear Gary playing his newest Desert Rose double-neck on the current single by Dierks Bentley.
